About Consilience

The name of our business derives from a scientific term first coined by the philosopher William Whewell in the 19th century. Meaning literally "a jumping together", consilience is the practice of unifying knowledge from a range of different scientific disciplines. The approach has been made popular recently by the distinguished scientist and environmentalist E.O.Wilson. A multi-disciplinary approach that can harness knowledge from the finance, economics and the physical sciences is essential, in our view, to an understanding of today's energy markets.
